Today, I had nasi kandar for lunch.. but it was in Jalan TAR, KL... they're specialty here was the onion rose chicken... but I am not going to share about that now.. This is perhaps more special... the last time we went to Penang, both me and enche hubby thought that we shouldn't take Nasi Kandar anymore..
so we went around Teluk Bahang.. looking for the famous Nasi Campur... well it happen that we bump into this stall 786 (Mum + Paps Cafe). The food was freshly cooked from the kitchen by enche Akhbar or known as Nana... he was 15 years chef in one of the hotels in Penang.... assisted by his wife who gave a very welcoming hospitality to us..
How to find this place? If you from Batu Feringhi just drive staright until you reach the Teluk Bahang roundabout.. and go straight heading towards jetty to the National Park, then you'll see this stall on your left.
Because the stall was located near the jetty, all the fish are still fresh... it's like homecooked.. everything was cooked in small portion... and the dish is different each day.... but of course curry will be served everyday...

On that day, we had....

Sayur campur
Everything here taste just right... feel at home and thanks to cik Nana Tanjung for this wonderful lunch
Oh I MISS Penang food sooooo much!!!! Dok tulis ni pun sambil terbayang-bayang makanan yg sedap-sedap di sana. Ni la hasil dok sana for a few years.
ReplyDeleteReally! I still put penang as my top list when it comes to food.. Unaizah, since you stayed in penang for few years, you might suggest me the hot spots where the locals eat..
ReplyDeleteSure thing dear, but my years were waaayyy back. Tak tahulah still wujud or not tempat-tempat makan yg i used to haunt.
