Isha New Collection of Books

It's been nearly 2 months since Isha went to school. How time flies.. I still remember how she act in her first day of school.. crying like she's been beaten and crying everytime her transporter fetched her...deep inside her, I knew that she wanted to go to school very badly and on the other hand she felt unsecured to be left alone with no familiar faces around her.. I didn't blame her..she just going to be 4 this coming June...

When I thought of it, especially when she knocked our door every night telling us her cute excuses why she don't have to be in school the next day.. really makes me smile...and I almost give up seeing her in such depressed mood. We keep praising her and try to convince her that school is such a great place for kids like her and alhamdulillah it works..  While we are still finding ways to make her likes her school and without realising a week after, the whole sad, crying and denying mode had transformed to be the other way round.. She became very excited to go to school and I can see happiness in her face.. The joyful Isha is back... she will share with us what she learn in school without me asking  her. .. and she's very hardworking too...
A bit of encouragement for Isha, I thought it's a good idea to treat her with some interesting activity books... Nothing serious.. just some introduction on developing her colouring skill and an introduction to letters (A,B,C..etc)..
Bought 3 books for her
1. DORA the explorer colouring book from NICKLEODEON
2. Let's learn UPPERCASE letters from Scholastic
3. KUMON my book of COLOURING
*
*
*
*
*
shhhhhh.....
Do not disturb!!!
Isha is at work..
and Guess what ??
she finished doing her KUMON workbook in just 3 days with MAMA's minimal guidance...
don't get me wrong...no pressure
She's doing it at her own will

and all Mama can say is
Well done girl..keep up the good work
Mama is more than happy to see you happy dear

Ayam berlada dengan petai

Hai.. I'm back from my kitchen.. tadi ingat nak masak Sambal Tumis Udang dengan petai.. but then last minute tukar dish pulak... since my DA dah goreng ayam and blend bumbu.. so I tingal tumis je.... so menu sempena cuti Maulidul Rasul
Ayam berlada dengan petai
Ingredients:
Ayam dipotong dan digoreng (lemau)
Petai
Asam keping
Garam dan gula

Bumbu (bahan-bahan kisar)
Bawang merah
Bawang putih
Serai
Halia
Cili merah dan cili padi
Cili kering
(Tips : normally I did not use ginger and lemongrass together cause it can create a conflict of flavour in your dish.. but this time is exceptional.. terlebih sudah)
it's okay..to make it to perfection
just add
a pinch of love
*
*
*
As a result..
Freshly cooked from my kitchen
*
*
*
hmm enjoy your meal!!
So... I punya DA tengah masak bayam masak bening... and ikan keli sawah goreng ... what a perferct match.

Steam River Patin Fish with Superior Soy Sauce

Hmm.... macam dah lama dapur ai tak berasap.. bukan tak berasap.. cuma nothing special to be shared...
Sometime... minda boleh jam fikir apa nak masak... so sempena Chinese New Year hari tu, haruslah ai menyesuaikan menu dengan mood Chinese New Year celebration.... okay dah dapat idea... after going through the Chinese Set menu served masa dinner ari tu... I think I want to try Steam Fish.. I just love Chinese Food.. simple in terms of ingredients but very technical when comes to the cooking part... full of cooking art..
As usual, based on eat once and try yourself concept, this could be the possible guessing ingredients
Steam RiverPatin Fish with Superior Sauce
Steam River Patin Fish
Chopped garlic
Sliced ginger
Superior Soy Sauce
Fish Sauce
A bit of sugar to caramalised the sauce and add balance to the taste
No salt needed because the Soy and Fish sauce is salty enough for the dish
White Pepper
Drop of lime juice
Preferably coriander leaf for garnish
may use spring onion to substitute
and lastly don't forget to add
a drop of love
*
*
*
So, this is the look of the original dish from Doubletree Kitchen
*
*

*
*
*
and this is my version of
Steam River Patin Fish with Superior Soy Sauce

But I think, I prefer Patin masak tempoyak... that would be my top list for Patin Fish.. second, Patin masak tauchu... I must learn from Kak Aya for these dishes.. authentic Pahang dish.

okay chaou dulu.. dah dekat 12.30..ai nak ke dapur masak untuk lunch.. masak apa yek?? Sambal tumis udang dengan petai, ayam goreng and kobis masak lemak putih??? okay kut...

Uncles Meet Again in Singapore

I am so excited to write this post.. A bit of history... the last time I came to Singapore was in 2009.. celebrating enche hubby's birthday.. I arranged a surprise for him.. it was a 1 day trip .. we took the earliest morning flight and came back on the same day after one whole day sightseeing in Singapore..

After almost one and a half year, we're here again in Singapore. This time, not just the two of us... but with the rest of our friends.. This is the first time Uncles Meet Again go abroad..Because not all of us have passport, we have no choice but to leave our kids in JB.  After having dinner and fun in Danga Bay, we send the kids back to hotel. We entered Singapore at about 10.30pm. Good time for beginner. Less traffic and less toll during that time. To many of us, it was our first time entering Singapore by car. All the rules and regulations are new to us.. Frankly, I had some kind of inferior feeling entering Singapore that night.. Firstly, we have to obtain the Autopass.. since Singapore is very efficient, the process of getting one went smoothly. It costs us SGD10 to register each vehicle.
p/s : WARNING ! don't ever try to take photo in Singapore CIQ area. You can be caught.. baik punye kena sound dengan Immigration officer tu.. ada aku kesah?

But there's one unforgettable incident happened at the CIQ. The S'pore Imm. Officer (S.I.O) came out from his booth to match our faces with the passport.. calling each name and when it's my turn.. guess what..
S. I.O : NURLIN IDRIS
Me : Shyly put up my hand
S.I.O : Look at the passport then look at me (2 times)
Me : Wink  ^%;XOV@$^!!
S.I.O : You loose weight.. yea
Me : I feel like asking him to repeat what he just said... smile till ears.. all night long.. hmm at least, somebody realise.. and immediately answered him.. Really??
Enche hubby and the rest of passengers : hmmm suke la tu..

Right..continue story in Singapore.. we were guided by Izwan's GPS. This damn thing really makes our life easier. One of the must have gadget nowadays... too sophistiacated until we forget how to read paper map..  Because it was Chinese New Year Eve, most of the shops closed. We went right away to Hard Rock, Singapore. Biasala.. Hard Rock memang tempat wajib yang akan dikunjung by most Malaysian traveller. Bought a tee for myself..
=

We went to HTC again the next day..
Then our next destination would be Mustafa Centre (Opened 24 hours). You can find everything here. Spent almost 2 hours here.
Back to JB at 4.00am

DAY 2 - SINGAPORE
Semalam punya trip to Singapore macam tak cukup haul. So semua geng sepakat untuk re enter Singapore. Alasannya semalam tak dapat tengok Singapore waktu siang. So, our first destination is Merlion Park.. and on our way there, we saw the latest Singapore Icon which I don't even know the name... so let's just layanzz the peektures peepos.

Bit of Historical Facts about Statue of Merlion
(extracted from the Park)
The Merlion is a mythical creature with a lion's head and the body of a fish. The lion head symbolises the "Lion City". According to the Sejarah Melayu written in the 15th century, Prince Sang Nila Utama of the Srivijaya Empire renamed the island Singapura or "Lion City" after spotting a lion here. The body of a fish symbolises the ancient Temasek or "Sea Town", which was Singapore's early name.
