Short breakaway to Medan

Hi Hi all...

Salam ceria petang khamis... hari ni rasa terpanggil untuk menulis entri ... something sweet and simple...agak loose dari segi content tapi since idea tengah mencurah-curah.. berpusu-pusu minta dikeluarkan dari "my natural cpu" untuk dikongsi sebahagian.....

Untuk permulaan cuti sekolah, ai memang dah plan untuk bawak anak-anak bercuti... masa planning, tercari-cari mana tempat yang menarik dan murah? dan yang pentingnya bakal meninggalkan seribu satu kenangan dalam sanubari anakanda tercinta.

Well, well after a long search, then me and enche hubby decided that we go to Medan... at that point, that is the most affordable oversea destination for 7 of us.

So, percutian 3 hari 2 malam yang sangat mengujakan. More than what I expected... we all satu family sangat-sangat enjoy dan me and enche hubby tak jemu-jemu melayan kerenah anakanda tercinta. For this trip, as planned, we chose to stay in most comfortable yet affordable hotel with minimal visit to crowded hot spot and a very relaxing day tour....

We're lucky this time coz, we have our friend join we all .. Izwan, Dee and her lovely daughter Farah. So Toyota Pregio is just right size to fit us in getting around Medan city. Tanpa melengahkan masa, right after landed, we all terus tuju ke beberapa hot spot ....

First to the Grand Mosque Al-Mashun

Then to another spot which I forgotten the name.... then to Pajak Ikan.. overall an average basic sightseeing . But things went differently after we reached this one particular tailor.... apa yang special nya tailor ni? Here, we all tempah office pants yang siap djahit within 1 day and terus deliver kat bilik hotel on the same day... katanye... yg nyatanya jahitan kemas giler but we managed to get our pants delivered 2 days later...just a mis comm and we don't have an issue on that...

You can choose good material like wool from Hugo Boss, Bvalgari etc. for enche hubby, he prefer khakis and the tailor claimed that the material enche hubby chose was "Dockers" quality..... hualla... memang tertarik untuk repeat trip ke Medan ni....

Another great discovery... kasut Converse yang sangat sangat murah.... hasil rembatan kami sekeluarga...Mama, Baba and the kids semua dapat sorang satu pair.. mama dapat 2 hehe... Price ranging from RM22-RM60.

That's all on shopping... owh terjumpa FO Ralph Lauren.. sempat gak mama beli Casual Polo Shirt and work shirt .... dah sampai ke Hong Kong pun baju ni....

Then we had lunch at Koki Sunda

After lunch checked in at Hotel Aryaduta, Medan... very nice hotel right in the city of Medan.

Bila bercuti, sure kena pergi hot spot eating place punye... so based on my cursory research , we managed to spot tempat-tempat makan yang femes di kalangan visitor dan juga warga lokal....

At night we had dinner at Jln Wajir Seafood. Very famous among the locals and tourist for variety of seafood dishes... sedap memang sedap, tapi bila teringat enche hubby kena attack gaut after balik dari Medan, macam serik pulak nak makan seafood... yang dah terlepas tu tak pe la... have to be more cautious next time..

Day 2

Siapa yang duduk sebelah ai tu? that is Yani my ex maid.. she worked with me for almost 7 years. Memang dia asal dari Medan, so I called her to meet us while we're there... she's now married and blessed with one son Rizky...

On the second day, we went to Berastagi.. about 3 hours drive through a winding road ..kawasan peranginan bukit yang suhu nya sangat sangat nyaman

Sempat singgah minum kopi dan makin jagung on the way ke Berastagi

Berastagi ni tempat dia nyaman coz terletak di atas bukit.. so it's like Cameron Highland except that the vegetables and fruits sold here are more variety and some of them, ai memang tak pernah tengok pun.

On the way balik dari Berastagi, sempat kami singgah di Restoran Mie Ache Titi Bobrok.... mie yang dibuat sendiri oleh pemilik restoran dan dihidangkan ikut pilihan masing-masing, ketam , udang, daging etc

Pengunjung yang tak putus-putus... penyediaan juadah secara large scale..dan waiting time sangat-sangat okay...

Antara kueh yang menarik untuk hidangan makan petang...

At on our last day stayed in Aryaduta, we are lucky to get a complimentary dim sum lunch ...... with complimentary tropical drink as token of our lucky draw



We got to choose 30 types of dim sum....

Sempat terspot Harley Davidson otw ke Bandara Medan

 

So that's the end of our weekend getaway in Medan with kids.... hmm sangat-sangat happy especially bila tengok keletah anak-anak.... memang ada perancangan untuk repeat... may be 2 daus 1 night to catch up with whatever that we've missed this trip.

So next week turn mama & baba pulak nak gi  holiday berdua.... jom gi Shenzhen, Hong Kong & Macau... see you
