Business resume as usual...
It was fine Saturday....when me and enche hubby had this conversation at around 11.00am
(extract of what I remember yeah)
Me : Rasa cam nak gi somewhere?
Enche Hubby (EH) : Mana?
Me : Tak taulah... tapi somewhere... gi Melaka jom
EH : Gi PD ok gak... just to relax
Me : Ala PD boring la...kalau stay kat Avilion best la...
EH : Berapa?
Me : Boleh tahan la.. then kita gi mandi sungai je la.... tapi kalau hujan cam ner?
EH : Ha... kalau kita gi Kuantan? Lepak kat Hyatt? Best tu... Esok boleh gi sarapan kat Hai Peng, what you say?
Me : Then better go Cherating? or Club Med?
EH : Mahal le.....
Me : Tapi macam nak gi oversea... Gi Singapore jom?
EH : or Batam?
Me : Tapi musim hujan ni takutla nak naik bot
(sambil enche hubby racun kengkawan lain ajak join.....)
EH : Gi Betong je la....
Me : OK gak tu....
Then terus singgah TESCO, buy some ration for kids, after that terus balik rumah, ambik passport, pack barang... here we are.. sampai jugak we all kat Pekan Betong.... memang dah setahun menjadi sebutan to leave our footprint here.... but knowing that it is part of Selatan Thailand, we are a bit reserve to explore this town on our own.... but since both of us desperately need a short break.... we just start our journey and no turning back.....
Thanks to Zan of EOCM for providing us with quick guide from the route, hotel, immigration clearance etc.
Luckily I have done a research about this town few months back..... so we manage to visit the hotspot of Betong which I'll share with you guys later....
Sawadeekap....... Welcome to Thailand
A bit on Betong.... Betong is a small town of Thailand... To get there... you need to drive to Kuala Kangsar, then straight on to Pengkalan Hulu , Perak border via Grik... Betong is located about 7km from the Malaysia-Thailand border... the journey from Shah Alam took us about 5 hours.
You can see more Malaysian cars than Thailand here... mostly came here for massage, Thailand food experience and best part is that you can stay for a night to shop just like your experience going to other border like Padang Besar, Wang Kelian, Rantau Panjang, Ayer Hitam, Pengkalan Kubu etc... Konvoi motor pun banyak gak... pemandangan memang cun sepanjang perjalanan ke Pengkalan Hulu.... berkabus sampai ke petang..... patutla riders suka datang sini... now I know why.....
We didn't buy anything much here except for rice... shhhhhh we bought something we can share with the kids... went for foot massage and eat Tomyum.... that's all
This trip is really to find out more on Betong, logistic, accomodation, getting around, food... sebab plan asal memang is to come here dengan geng UMA . Don't worry... bisa di atur....
and we visited the two main landmark of Betong
The Giant Post box and the Clock Tower
I memang suka dapat posing dekat giant post box ni..... dengan cuaca cerah... awan membiru.... baju memang sengaja di matching kan.....
Jangan marah.... siap datang balik sebab tak puas hati dengan hasil snap shot enche hubby.... ni pun dah cut.... banyak lagi aksi-aksi poyos...
Tapi yang peliknya.... tak ramai pulak tourist kat sini... actually kalau you all datang Betong... jangan tertipu dengan replika post box and clock tower kat tengah town tu.....sebiji macam dalam gamabr but a smaller version... the post pox is about the same height as me... sebenarnya ai pun tak sure which one yang original... but to me better why catch the small one when you have the big one... the bigger the better right? So yang giant ni is located about 1 km away from town....you won't miss it.... too significant ....
Next would be the clock tower.... focus kat awan berarak tapi tengah terik... ai kan memang fan of cloud.... so mood terus membara nak posing.... enche hubby tak bawak sunglasses so... a bit silau for his eyes and forehead... he he....
